The Scarcity Principle in Your Marketing

If you’re not using scarcity in your marketing you are really missing out. This one method will bring you loads more cash to your business than you thought possible.

To best illustrate scarcity all you have to do is look at the current situation of the Playstation 3 game console that just came out. Sony did not make enough consoles to go around (On purpose?). So, the consoles are scarce and therefore the value of the consoles goes way up.

A few days ago on ebay Playstation 3 (PS3) were going for as much as 3,600 dollars. That’s a pretty hefty price tag for a 600-700 dollar retail priced video game machine. People stood in line for DAYS to get their hands on the PS3 and most walked away empty handed.

The lesson to be gained from an event like this is that people are more likely to buy, and more likely to pay more for, a service or product that is limited in some way. You could limit the amount of time it is offered. You could limit the amount of people who will receive the product. You could even limit the amount of time a certain discount is in effect. But whatever you do, if you create a sense of scarcity (that is legitimate) you will get a lot more customers to buy than if you didn’t create scarcity.

Experiment with your marketing and try to find out how you can legitimately create scarcity.

For a far more scientific and thorough explanation of scarcity and other psychological triggers for marketing, check out the book called Influence: Science and Practice by Robert B. Cialdini. I highly recommend it and have read it several times.

Making Customers Happy

Your customers and the business they bring you are the most important things in your business. So you better make your customers happy!

Mark Cuban over at has a very interesting post on his blog about how he handles his customers, it's titled “Success and Motivation - Connecting to your customers.”

Click over there and read it to give you a little bit of insight on how you should be treating your customers. I’m sure we all could be doing better on this issue. And ultimately it goes back to my philosophy of giving. Giving your customers what they want and need will bring you more business than you can handle.

A Method for Becoming More Successful

One of the major roadblocks to people’s success is the lack of belief. The belief that it can be done, that they can take an idea and create whatever it is they want.

People may even be trying desperately to achieve their goals but inside they have the belief that they won’t be successful. They have that doubt inside that is sabotaging all of their efforts. Believe me, I’ve been there!

One of the ways to build a belief that you can do something is to look at what others have done and to see that it’s possible. writes an article called “How I Did It” several times a month. And although there are incredible people on the list, a lot of them are just regular people who have accomplished amazing things. Reading their stories just might make a believer out of you.

Here is a link to the archives: How I Did It

...Maybe soon we'll see your story on the list.

P.S. Thanks to for the link.

Leveraging the Power of Youtube

If you’re a small business owner or service professional and you’re not using the power of youtube, then this is for you.

Youtube’s slogan is “broadcast yourself.” Sounds good to me. You can upload any video as long as it fits into their criteria and they host it for you! You can even place it onto your website so they don’t have to go to youtube to view it. Plus, when you upload your video to youtube you have to opportunity to reach millions of people. Just think of all the networking possibilities and new customers you could acquire using youtube.

If you’re not familiar with youtube please visit their about page here:

If you’re not sure how you could use youtube to further your marketing, stay tuned. I’ll be doing an article about it later for some tips. Also, when my new product launches I will go in depth with youtube and also podcasting.

Right now look at an example on how it can fit into your site and also check out to get familiar with it.

Here's an example. This is just a random video I found on youtube of one of my favorite performers. But imagine this being any video YOU produce.

Why Your Marketing isn't Working

If your marketing doesn’t seem effective you may want to ask yourself what you’re doing wrong. Well, have you found out what it is yet?

I’ll tell you what I see is one of the biggest mistakes in marketing…

You are too focused on yourself and your needs!

That’s right, you’re too focused on getting something and you’re not concerned at all with your prospect's and future client's needs. In all your marketing and conversations with clients is this sense of neediness that everyone can pick up from you. You’re desperately seeking new business and are too focused on yourself.

So what to do? Well, just flip it around. Give and give. Then give some more. You should be giving your clients or prospects massive value before you expect to do business. I’m not saying give away your products or services per se, but value. There are many ways to do this.

For example, if you were a financial advisor you may advertise a free review of their current investments and give them an overview on how they could do better or reach retirement sooner. If you were an attorney you could offer a free 20 minute phone call or consultation for legal advice. If you were a web designer you could offer a review of a client’s current website and offer advice. There are so many things that you could do for your clients to build massive value and attract more clients than you can handle.

The key to this is being focused on your client’s needs. When you give to your clients it will come back to you ten-fold. It might not come back from the same person who received it but it will come back eventually.

Don’t take this lesson lightly. It is so powerful that you could take this one simple idea and gain massive amounts of business. Go ahead, try it.

Finally, An All-in-One Course To Attract More Business and Clients Than You Thought Possible!

After purchasing and reviewing tons of courses on small business and service professional marketing, I’ve decided that most of the courses are worthless. And the ones that aren’t have great material but it’s not very clear or so full of filler it makes you want to quit right away.

Therefore, as they say: if you want something done right you have to do it yourself.

So, I’m creating my own product how I think it would benefit this niche group. I have gobs of methods and secrets that people can use to increase their business that are so easy but are often overlooked or never done.

I’m going to make this course incredible!

I’m planning on taking complete novices and walking them through the marketing process to create more clients than they can handle. I’ll cover everything from…
  • website design
  • copywriting
  • logos and brand image
  • SEO
  • traffic generation
  • referrals
  • generating endless leads
  • fliers
  • CDs
  • podcasts
  • audio and video web presentations
  • blogs
  • affiliates
…and some more surprises that I’ve discovered but kept secret until now.

I’m going to have books, audio CDs, DVDs, marketing samples, and more to walk you through each process step-by-step to ensure your success.

I’m also going to add secret methods that literally attract money and clients to you. Some of these methods have recently been shown in the DVD The Secret that can be found at I’m going to show you how I’ve used them and how you can super-charge them to attract more clients.

I’m also taking special requests so you can see marketing methods explained that are giving you trouble or confusion.

This course is going to blow you away and has many more secrets to come. I’m also going to limit the amount sold so we keep these methods to only a select few who will benefit greatly from them.

I’ll have a VIP list set-up soon that you can join to be the first to know about this product. You’ll want to get in on this ASAP so as not to miss out on this launch. You will also be added to my marketing email course for free!

More info to come, stay tuned.

9 Ultimate Secrets to Attracting More Money Instantly

OK, this post isn't about making money instantly. It's about the power of copywriting.

I can't even begin to tell you how many sales letters I have read. Pages and pages full of nothing but copy and the occasional graphic here or there. The reason why I'm posting on this topic is because I thought by now copy would have no affect on me.

I've seen pretty much everything from the best of the best to the worst of the worst. I've watched and listened to tons of courses on copywriting and have listened to the greats and how they do it. You would think by having a good understanding of copywriting it would render it ineffective.

Well, yes and no. “Bad” or poorly written copy doesn’t persuade me. I think when I first got into reading sales letters and marketing on the web, I was easily intrigued because marketing copy was new to me. It got me excited and made me want to buy what they wanted to sell. But I still didn’t buy. They were setting me up but couldn’t quite push me over and make me pull my wallet out. I realized that only the best copy was influencing me.

Great copy is powerful. Even after learning a lot of the techniques of copywriting, it still has a powerful effect on me. So what am I trying to say? Well, my point is this, when you have good copy it literally pushes those psychological buttons in people that are almost impossible to resist.

So if you are in the internet or direct mail marketing world, make sure you have excellent copy. Either learn how to do it yourself or hire someone to do it for you. Don’t skimp on your copy! It’s everything in marketing!

Taking Action

One topic that I think is very important but a lot of people overlook is taking action.

Taking action is not only important in your daily activities and life, but it is also one of the most important steps in marketing.

So many people tell me they don't have enough clients and that they desperately want more. But when I ask them what they are doing for marketing or advertising I'm met with blank stares.

I even have clients that have a highly sophisticated marketing plan and know what to do. But they just don't take action. Why? Well for a lot of reasons but I think the biggest two are laziness (bad time management) and fear.

If you are saying to yourself that you don't have time for this or that, ask yourself, how many hours of TV do you watch a day? How many hours do you spend everyday surfing the web and watching videos on youtube? Probably more than you should. I'm not saying you should give up your life, I’m just saying you need to prioritize and get the steady flow of clients coming in on autopilot before you do anything else.

The other reason I think people don't take action is fear. Fear of failure would be the most common but if you think about it it's quite silly. Worst case scenario is that your marketing efforts won't pay off. Well, so what? You'll at least learn something and be able to improve on your plan. And what if it does work (which it probably will)? You'll have more clients (and revenue) than you can handle.

So ask yourself what you need to do today. Maybe it's sitting down and getting clear on what you want, maybe it's purchasing that book on marketing you've been eyeing on Amazon, or maybe it's hiring a marketing consultant to help you attain more clients. Whatever it is, take action now.

"You pile up enough tomorrows, and you'll find you've collected a lot of empty yesterdays."

Here it is. The beginning.

I've had many websites but never really a traditional blog.

I have many insights and with the launch of a couple new businesses I need a place to put all my thoughts and new ideas.

If you're an attorney, CPA, mortgage broker, dentist, realtor, salesman, consultant, trainer, writer, personal coach, designer, financial advisor, etc, and you want more clients, then this blog and my services are for you.
